TERM 2 PROGRAM 2026
Message from the Leaders...
Term One has been an action-packed and memorable start to the year for our Scouts. We kicked things off with some hands-on creativity during our candle making night, where everyone got to experiment and take home their own creations.
One of the highlights was our night at the beach, giving Scouts a chance to get outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, and spend time together in a relaxed setting.
A huge milestone this term was Cheddar’s (Veronica’s) Adventurous Journey as part of her Peak Award—an incredible effort that showcased determination, resilience, and true scouting spirit.
We also had plenty of fun mixing things up with Freaky Thursday, where the Scouts took charge and the leaders stepped into their shoes—resulting in plenty of laughs (and a new appreciation for each other’s roles!).
Our SES emergency services night was another standout, giving Scouts valuable insight into real-world emergency response and the important work SES volunteers do in our community.
To round out the term, 7 of our Scouts attended the 5-day Stradbroke Cup camp over Easter. Their efforts paid off with a well-earned silver award—an outstanding achievement and something the whole group can be proud of.
Overall, it’s been a fantastic term full of adventure, learning, and teamwork, setting a great tone for the rest of the year.
A few notes for Term 2...

They are to be paid to the scout account via Bank Transfer (info is on Whatsapp) Please do not let the leaders chase you for these. Subs are a vital part of the programming in order to keep costs down for camps and activities the unit runs.

What do Scouts do?
Scouting offers a wide range of activities and opportunities for young people to explore and develop various skills. Here are some of the things you can do in Scouts:
- Outdoor Adventures: Scouts often participate in camping trips, hiking, orienteering, and other outdoor activities. They learn essential survival skills, such as fire building, first aid, knot tying, and navigation. These adventures foster teamwork, self-reliance, and a love for nature.
- Skill Development: Scouts have the chance to learn a diverse array of skills. They can explore activities like cooking, woodworking, arts and crafts, pioneering, and outdoor cooking. These activities promote creativity, resourcefulness, and practical knowledge.
- Community Service: Scouts are encouraged to contribute to their communities through service projects. They might organise food drives, participate in environmental clean-ups, volunteer at local organisations, or assist with community events. Engaging in service develops a sense of responsibility and empathy towards others.
- Leadership Opportunities: Scouts have the chance to take on leadership roles within their units. They can become patrol leaders, assistant leaders, or even hold positions at the district or national level. This helps them develop leadership skills, decision-making abilities, and effective communication.
- Badgework: Scouts can earn badges by demonstrating proficiency in various subjects. These badges cover a wide range of interests, including sports, science, technology, arts, and personal growth. By earning badges, Scouts gain knowledge and expertise in diverse fields.
- International Scouting: Scouts often have opportunities to participate in international scouting events, such as jamborees or exchange programs. These experiences expose them to different cultures, foster global understanding, and create lifelong friendships.
- Personal Development: Scouting promotes personal growth and character development. Through the Scout Promise and Law, scouts learn values like honesty, respect, integrity, and responsibility. They also learn to set goals, face challenges, and develop resilience.
