Cubs is for boys and girls aged between 8-11 years.
As well as the once a week meeting, Cubs go on weekend activities. See below for some of the cool activities that Cubs get up to. All Cub Scouts are encouraged to make friends and to 'do their best' at whatever they try and to help others to ‘do their best’ also! Cub Scouts work in a small groups known as a "Patrols" and have a lot of fun doing many interesting things. They spend weekends away together camping, fishing and exploring, learning about bushcraft, visiting the zoo, the museum or the fire station. Cubs get the opportunity to learn many useful things that will help them when they move up to the older Scouting sections, as well as throughout their entire lives. There are so many things that Cub Scouts can do. When you join Cubs you need to be ready for adventure, excitement and serious fun! Activities Cubs might participate in include games (where Cubs can learn about team work, leadership and co-operation), outdoor adventures (such as sailing, camping, cycling, bushwalking and billy-karting), environmental activities (such as projects that care for native bushland eg. Cleanup Australia Day, tree planting) and community service (Dawn Service). |
