Fees Explained
2023 Payment Schedule
Scout Victoria Registration - an annual fee which covers youth member insurance, public liability and national and state administration. It is effective until the 31 March each year and is paid upfront in Term 1. If joining part way through the registration period, the fee is charged on a pro-rata basis according to the number of terms remaining in the year.
Group Fee – Goes towards utility costs for the hall, Leader training, Youth training and Badges for all sections.
Please note, the fees in no way cover our full operating costs. We are a voluntary organisation, with all Leaders & Committee members volunteering their time, so in addition to fees we continue to need your regular support - please check out our 'How you can help' page.
Pro-rata amounts:
Join between 1 Jan - 31 Mar 2024: $65 Registration + $30 Group Fee. Total $95
2024 Pro-rata amounts TBA
Please note the Scout Victoria Registration fee is non-refundable
Membership can be transferred to other Scout Groups in Victoria.
Subscription & Activity Fee "Subs" - Contributes towards the week to week operating costs of the section. These 'Subs' go towards resources for the meetings, and also can be used to subsidise the costs of camps / outings.
Joey Scouts $15 Per Term
Cubs and Scouts $20 Per Term
Venturers $20 Per Term
Failure to pay these subs when they have been requested, may mean that your child may not participate in any camps or outings.
Other Costs
Uniforms are available to purchase from the Scout Shop (1702 Dandenong Rd, Oakleigh East) or online at: https://scoutshop.com.au/t/uniforms
Events, Camps and Activities - additional costs may be involved for organised events, camps and activities at which attendance is optional. We do our best to keep costs to a minimum. However, major events and expeditions can add significantly to the cost unless we are able to offset these through fundraising activities.
Discounts
As we are volunteers, and require as much help as possible, we do offer discounts for the parents / guardians who volunteer for a role within the group. Discounts are offered for:
Active Committee Members
Adult Helpers who actively contribute to Camps / Fundraisers
Leaders of Youth
If you wish to learn more about becoming a volunteer, please see the 'How can I help' page
Payment Options (when re-registering for a full 12 months)
We want everyone to be able to enjoy Scouting so if you need a payment plan or other assistance please get in touch with our Group Leader or Treasurer.
